The most popular of all the
Hocking areas is Old Man's Cave. Here at the Upper Falls, the Grandma Gatewood Trail
begins its six-mile course connecting three of the park's areas: Old Man's Cave to Cedar
Falls to Ash Cave.
Just a 3/4 mile walk from Top O' The
Caves cabins, in the southern most reaches of Hocking Hills is Ash Cave, beyond a
doubt the most spectacular feature of the park. Ash Cave is the largest, most impressive
recess cave in the state.
A short walk from Top O' The Caves is
Cedar Falls, whch has the greatest waterfall in terms of volume in the Hocking region.
Queer Creek tumbles over the face of the Blackhand displaying the awesome force of water
power.
Rock House is unique in the
Hocking Hills region, as it is the only true cave in the park. It is a tunnel-like
corridor situated midway up a 150-foot cliff of Blackhand sandstone.
Top O' The Caves is the largest
campground in the Hocking Hills. The facility has two modern heated shower houses (with
plenty of hot water), a large in-ground swimming pool, kids playground including mini
golf, a large game arcade, a gift shop and even a laundramat for your convenience. There
are lots of activities in addition to seeing the beautiful park system. Walk to all these
areas while staying at Top O' The Caves, the Grandma Gatewood trail runs adjacent to our
60 acres.
